M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy

Date: 9 March 2008
Location: My back garden in suburban London.
Exposure: 5 hours in total - a mixture of 5min and 10min exposures at ISO800 over 3 evenings
Telescope: Celestron C11 with F6.3 reducer on Skywatcher EQ6 mount.
Camera: Canon EOS 350D
Guiding: Nikkor 300mm lens with Philips SPC900 webcam.
Filters: Astronomik CLS filter
Processing: Stacking, arcsinh range compression, in IRIS.
Comments: The Whirlpool Galaxy from light polluted skies.
